Work has resumed this morning on a Co Tipperary site which is being prepared for modular homes for Ukrainian refugees.
A significant garda presence has been deployed to the area on Heywood Road on the edge of Clonmel, along with security personnel, while excavation work takes place on the five-hectare site.
Protests have been taking place in recent weeks since plans were finalised by the Department of Integration and the OPW for the site.
They plan to install 82 modular homes for occupation by refugees from Ukraine.
It's likely to be early next year before the homes are ready to be lived in.
The Government has said that the property is earmarked for Ukrainian people and not international protection applicants.
A number of incidents took place at the site last month, including criminal damage to construction machinery. Gardaí said that a number of security staff were assaulted one night, with one man having to be hospitalised for treatment of minor injuries.
Work was effectively suspended for a number of weeks following those incidents.
A group of people have been taking part in a peaceful protest this morning, while a number of garda vehicles, including vans and cars, are nearby, along with local gardaí.
A section of the Heywood Road between Clonmel's inner relief road and Clonmel Rugby Club is currently closed.
