The trial of a 22-year-old transgender woman, accused of making threats to kill or cause serious harm to two women, has been put back to the end of this month.
Barbie Kardashian, with an address at Mulgrave Street in Limerick city, was brought before Limerick Circuit Court for trial this morning, but the court was told there were difficulties in relation to some witnesses and the case could not proceed today.
Kardashian is accused of a total of four counts of making threats to kill or cause serious harm, to two women contrary to Section 5 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
She is alleged to have made a threat to kill or cause serious harm to Tegan McGhee, at Mulgrave Street, Limerick City, on 25 February 2023, intending for Ms McGhee to believe the threat against her would be carried out.
She is further accused that on 25 April, 9 June and 11 June 2023, at Mulgrave Street, Limerick City, she threatened to kill or cause serious harm to Roisin Linnane.
Judge Dermot Sheehan put the case back to 29 April for trial, acknowledging from counsel there may be difficulties with some personnel involved in the trial.
Counsel for the State John O'Sullivan said he would reserve his position in relation to witnesses on that date.
Kardashian was remanded in custody to Limerick Prison until 29 April.
