A man is due to appear in court tomorrow morning in relation to the death of a man following a serious assault in Co Cork.
Ian Baitson, 33, died on Tuesday in hospital after he was attacked in a car park in Cobh on the night of Friday, 15 March, and suffered a serious injury.
Following a post-mortem examination on Wednesday, gardaí confirmed that they had launched a murder investigation.
A man in his 30s was arrested in Cappoquin, Co Waterford last Friday night as part of the inquiry and was questioned at a garda station in Cork over the weekend.
Gardaí said today that the man has been charged and will appear before a sitting of Midleton District Court in the morning.
