Emergency services attended the scene of a road crash in Cork city centre this morning, an incident which caused sever traffic disruption.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Patrick Street.

Gardaí say that a car crashed with two stationary vans.

Two people, the driver of the car and a passenger who are aged in their 70s and 80s, were taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed for a period of time but has since reopened to traffic.
