Watch: 'Too hard to take in' - sister of man found dead in Cork

A sister of a 61-year-old man found dead at his home at Macroom, Co Cork yesterday has paid tribute to him and said it is another terrible loss for her family.

Mary O'Driscoll said her brother Michael Foley's death is "absolutely devastating".

"It's just all too hard to take in at once," she said.

Gardaí are treating Mr Foley's death as murder after a post-mortem examination was carried out.

it is understood the preliminary results confirm injuries on his body are consistent with an assault.

Ms O’Driscoll described losing her other brother Timmy, who was murdered in October 2018, and how much of a loss it was to their family.

She said added that Michael had moved to Macroom and drew comfort from the fact that Timmy had lived there.

She said it was a grief that the family would never get over.

Ann Foley, another sister of Michael, described him as a gentleman.
