Rugby legend Ronan O'Gara will be putting his native Cork on the map this autumn as he is set to promote the county across France during the Rugby World Cup.
Tourism Ireland has announced a partnership with the 46-year-old, and included a campaign video that was shot across tourist attractions such as The English Market in Cork city and Charles Fort near Kinsale.
The video also includes shots of the famous Jazz Festival which takes place every October Bank Holiday and sees internationally renowned artists come to the city to perform.
Former Munster and Ireland out-half O'Gara is a familiar face in France as he has managed European Champions La Rochelle since 2019.
This week a clip of him giving a team-talk in French went viral after many social media users took note of his strong Cork accent.
Tourism Ireland Manager for Southern Europe Monica MacLaverty said they are hoping his popularity there will help attract visitors to Ireland.
"It's a great opportunity to capitalise on the excitement in the run-up to, and during, the Rugby World Cup.
"Our aim is to highlight the many great experiences and attractions in Cork city and county, as well as the ease of access from France to Cork and the warm welcome that awaits our French visitors," she added.
Cork Airport is currently connected with four French destinations, including La Rochelle, as part of its summer schedule.
A Ryanair route to Paris Beauvais and an Aer Lingus route to Lyon are set to operate over the winter.
Brittany Ferries also runs a twice-weekly route between the county and Roscoff.
