A woman in her 70s has died after the car she was travelling in crashed into a ditch in Co Clare yesterday evening.
The incident took place in Ballinagun, near Kilrush at around 9.20pm.
The woman, who was a rear-seat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
The R483 was closed this morning for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
