An investigation is under way into what may have caused a helicopter to experience difficulties when it landed at Shannon Airport earlier this morning.
It landed heavily on the taxiway near a small aircraft park located away from the airport's main runway.
Business at the airport was unaffected and the pilot of the helicopter was uninjured.
It happened close to where the airport fire service is located, so crews were able to respond quickly to the incident.
A spokesperson for the Shannon Airport Group confirmed that the incident was resolved swiftly.
"At 6:19am this morning, a helicopter experienced difficulty while landing at Shannon Airport," the spokesperson confirmed.
"No one was injured. The aircraft remains in situ at the airport pending the arrival of the Air Accident Investigation Unit.
"Our airport operations were unaffected by the incident and are fully operational."
