Watches, cash and bank account details have been seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau following a number of searches across Cork and Kerry this morning.
Gardaí said the searches were targeted at individuals involved in targeting the elderly and other vulnerable people, through the guise of conducting home repairs and roofing.
CAB officers and Kerry gardaí, as well as the Regional Armed Response Unit and the Garda Dog Unit took part in the searches of 11 residential addresses across the Kerry and Cork divisions, as well as in four professional searches.
Two Rolex watches, a sum of cash, designer footwear, as well as documentation such as bank account details and files relating to the purchase of property were all seized in the operation.
Gardaí said the operation marks a "significant development" in their investigations into money laundering and proceeds of crime.
