A Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Waterford is in effect, with heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding forecast.
Met Éireann said: "Rainfall accumulations from heavy showers or longer spells of rain today and overnight with isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding."
The warning will remain in effect until 7am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a weather advisory remains in place for the whole country, until 7pm tomorrow.
Met Éireann said it will remain unsettled "for much of this week with spells of heavy rain or showers, possibly causing further disruption."
