An old army barracks training ground is being transformed into a theatrical venue for three performances by an award-winning street arts company this weekend.
Spraoi will bring their production of PRISM to life at Kickham Barracks in Clonmel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights with audiences and performers set to make the most of the outdoor space for the duration.
PRISM incorporates music, dance and circus performance while the venue itself will be illuminated to transform the old parade ground at the town centre barracks.
It is one of a number of productions supported by The Arts Council as part of their 'In the Open/Faoin Speir' programme which sees cultural events taking place outdoors in public spaces.
Included in the performers will be members of the Hunchback Choir and the Cronin Dance Academy Ensemble.
This programme for Clonmel is led by Tipperary County Council along with Clonmel Junction Festival and South Tipperary Arts Centre, with input from artists, musicians, dancers, and theatre-makers from the region.
