Investigation after man found dead in Cork house

An investigation is under way into the death of a 62-year-old man, whose body was found in a house in Buttevant, Co Cork.

Gardaí were called to the house at O'Brien Terrace in Buttevant just after 9.30pm last night.

The man was pronounced dead there a short time later.

His body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem examination was completed this evening by the Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margot Bolster.

A technical examination is under way at the house, which remains sealed off.

The investigation is being carried out by gardaí in Mallow.
