A man in his 60s has died on his farm at Drimoleague in west Cork.

Gardaí and the emergency services were called to the farm yesterday and recovered a man's body at around 3.30pm.

It is believed he may have fallen into a slurry pit.

Gardaí have a begun an investigation to compile a file for the coroner's court.

The Health and Safety Authority will also conduct an investigation.
