Gardaí in Kerry are appealing to the public for help in tracking down memorabilia and stories associated with the foundation of An Garda Síochána as it marks its 100th anniversary this year.
Information such as stories of heroism or bravery, books or documents, photographs or old uniforms would all be welcomed by organisers of a number of events to be held across the Kerry Garda Division over the coming year.
A full schedule of these events is to be announced shortly, including details of a special ceremonial event to be held at Listowel Garda Station which was the site of the first Civic Guard Station, when it was established in Kerry in 1922.
