Post-mortem examinations have been completed on the bodies of an elderly couple which were found at their home in Kenmare, Co Kerry, yesterday morning.

The results are not being released by gardaí, and its understood that the results of further tests are awaited.

The couple have been named locally as Tony and Phyllis Gilbert, who were both in their 80s.

Their bodies were found at their home at Dromneavane estate.

The post-mortems were conducted by State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan at University Hospital Kerry.

It is understood that gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

The bodies were discovered after the alarm was raised by a relative at around 10am yesterday morning.

It is understood the couple, who were originally from England, had been living in Kenmare for some time.
