Gardaí have arrested two people in connection with the death of a four-year-old boy in Limerick earlier this year.

A man, aged in his 30s, and a woman, in her 20s, are being questioned on suspicion of murder.

They are being detained under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at garda stations in Limerick city.

The boy died in Temple Street hospital in Dublin three days after suffering injuries at a house in Rathbane last March.
