The funerals of a father and his two sons who died in a shooting on a farm in Co Cork earlier this week will take place today and Saturday.

A separate funeral will be held for 26-year-old Mark O'Sullivan on Saturday afternoon at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Kanturk.

He was discovered with gunshot wounds in a bedroom of the family home at a 115-acre farm at Assolas, near Kanturk, on Monday.

The bodies of his 59-year-old father Tadg and 23-year-old brother Diarmuid were found a short time later near a ringfort half a kilometre from the farmhouse.

Their funerals will take place tomorrow at St Mary's Church in Castlemagner, with burial afterwards in St Brigid's Cemetery.

Gardaí are investigating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide.

The alarm was raised after Ann O'Sullivan fled the farm at 6.40am on Monday morning telling neighbours that her son Mark had been shot.

Neighbours told gardaí responding to the emergency call that they had heard a number of further gunshots.
