Two Irish fishing vessels have been detained off the Cork coast over alleged breaches of fishing regulations.
The Naval Service vessel LÉ William Butler Yeats (P63) detained the two boats, which are registered in Ireland, about 75 nautical miles south-east of Cork Harbour.
The vessels are being escorted to Cork Harbour, where they will be handed over to gardaí.
The Navy has now detained 10 vessels so far this year.
"The Defence Forces conducts at sea fishery inspections in line with the service level agreement with the Sea Fishery Protection Authority, as part of its delivery of government services to the State," said a statement from the Defence Forces.
