A woman in her 40s has died and four other people have been seriously injured in a road collision in Co Kerry.
The two-car crash happened on the main Killarney to Tralee Road near Farranfore at around 2pm this afternoon.
The woman, who was a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and a woman in their 70s, who were in the same car, were taken to University Hospital Kerry were the woman is said to be in a critical condition while the man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Two women, aged in their 20s, who were in the second car were airlifted to hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The N22 at Brennan's Glen is closed in both directions between Killarney and Farranfore and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí in Killarney are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
