Five people have been arrested following a burglary at a phone shop on O'Connell Street in Ennis, Co Clare.
Gardaí, responding to reports of the burglary on O'Connell Street, arrived at the scene at around 2.30am and saw a grey car leaving the area.
The car was later abandoned on Ballyalla Grove and the suspects fled on foot.
A large quantity of mobile phones was recovered during a search of the car and a man was arrested.
Gardaí stopped another car on Gort road at around 5.30am and arrested three other men.
A fifth man was arrested around 8am on Drumcliffe road.
All five, who are aged in their late teens to early 20s, are being questioned at Ennis and Shannon garda stations.
