A man in his 20s has been arrested at Dublin Airport in connection with a burglary and an assault in Co Tipperary last month.

The incidents happened on 23 December 2019.

Two men entered a house in Woodview Close in Nenagh at around 3.30am and assaulted a man in his 30s.

The victim sustained a number of cuts and bruises but did not require medical treatment.

Later that day a man was assaulted with what is believed to be a hammer outside a house in the Yewston estate in Nenagh at around 11.30pm.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.

Yesterday morning a man was arrested at Dublin Airport as part of an operation by gardaí from Nenagh and Immigration gardaí at Dublin Airport.

Gardaí say he was about to check in to board a flight.

He has been brought to Nenagh Garda Station where he has been charged.
