A man has died after he was stabbed in Cork city.
The incident happened just after 9pm on the Bandon Road, an area where many students from the nearby University College Cork live.
The victim is believed to have been in his late teens or early 20s and it is understood he was at a house party, when he was stabbed.
He was taken to the nearby Cork University Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
An extensive area of the Bandon Road has been cordoned off and gardaí are at the scene.
They are appealing to witnesses to contact the Bridewell Garda Station on 021 4943330.
