A 32-year old man has been charged with impeding the apprehension or prosecution of a person who gardaí believe murdered an English man in Skibbereen two years ago.
John Ustic, 51, was found dead at his home at High Street in Skibbereen on 25 September 2017.
Gardaí said Mr Ustic died as a result of an injury sustained in an assault.
Thomas Fitchett of the Moorings in Skibbereen appeared before Clonakilty District Court this morning charged with intentionally impeding the apprehension or prosecution of another person, knowing or believing that that person had murdered Mr Ustic.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by Detective Garda Daniel Lordan, who told the court Mr Fitchett made no reply when the charge was put to him.
Sergeant Paul Kelly told Judge James McNulty that the case will be dealt with on indictment at the Central Criminal Court, on the instructions of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr Fitchett was remanded in custody to appear again in court next Tuesday.
