A man in his 40s was arrested in Cork suspected possession of child abuse material.
He was one of 17 people Gardaí arrested under Operation Thor for a number of other offences including assault, burglary, theft, drugs and immigration offences.
The man in his 40s was arrested yesterday in the Ovens area of Co. Cork. He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
Five people were arrested for immigration offences and have since been returned to Spain.
Three were arrested on foot of bench warrants were brought before the courts.
Eight others were arrested for drugs, burglary and theft offences.
They have all since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
A total of six premises were searched which resulted in the seizure of small quantities of suspected MDMA, cocaine and cannabis.
The arrests were part of a planned day of action under Operation Thor.
