A flight from Dublin to the US diverted to Shannon Airport this morning after a passenger fell ill.
United Airlines flight UA-22 departed Dublin at around 9.50am and was about 45 minutes into its journey when the flight crew declared a medical emergency.
After arrival at Shannon Airport, the passenger was brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The flight was expected to resume its journey to Newark in the US state of New Jersey this afternoon.
