Woman dies in single-car crash in Co Tipperary

A woman in her teens has died in a single-vehicle car crash in Co Tipperary.

The incident happened on the N24 at Ballydrehid, near Cahir, at around 8.30am.

The woman was the only person in the car when it struck a tree.

The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Her body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the crash site.
