An additional €10 million in public funding is to be provided for the development of the Cork Event Centre.
The increase brings the total public funding for the project to €30m, made up of grant aid of €21m and a loan of €9m.
The extra funding was announced by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
In a statement, the Dept said officials will meet with Cork City Council next month to discuss the project.
