Two arrests over serious assault in Waterford

A man aged in his 20s has been seriously injured in an assault in Co Waterford earlier today.

Shortly before 7.30am, it is alleged that a teenage boy and a man aged in his 20s attacked the man in the Lisduggan area.

The injured man was taken to Waterford University Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Both the teenager and the man were arrested and taken to Waterford Garda station for questioning.

The teenager was charged in connection with the incident while the man appeared in court today before being released,

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
