Man charged with murder of Patrick O'Connor in Limerick

A 41-year-old man has appeared at Limerick District Court charged with the murder of a 24-year-old man in a pub in the city last Saturday night.

Mark Crawford with an address at Distillery View, Thomondgate, Limerick, was charged with the murder of Patrick O'Connor at Fitzgerald's Bar on 7 July.

The court heard he made no reply when charged.

He was granted free legal aid and a solicitor was assigned to represent him.

Members of the victim’s family were in court and shouted at the accused.

Mr Crawford was remanded in custody to Limerick Prison to appear in court again on 17 July.
