Independent Councillor Mick Finn has been elected the new Lord Mayor of Cork city.
Councillor Flynn represents the south central ward of Cork city and has been active in local politics for many years.
He was elected under a shared agreement with Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Sinn Féin and Independents which has been in place since the last local elections.
Lord Mayor Finn succeeds Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony Fitzgerald.
Mr Finn is the first independent lord mayor in 70 years since 1948.
