Two American tourists are recovering in hospital following a two-vehicle collision on the N20 Cork to Mallow road earlier today.
The couple from Minnesota were turning right in their rented car at Waterloo junction for Blarney when they were struck by a van.
The driver was seriously injured while his female passenger received minor injuries.
Both were taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
Last September, two American tourists were killed in a collision with a truck at the same junction.
The driver of the van was treated for shock at the scene as was the driver of a third car which was struck as it waited to exit onto the N20.
The road was closed off as a garda forensic crash investigation was carried out.
Diversions are in place but the road is due to reopen at 5pm.
