Investigation into death of Waterford man continues

Authorities believe a pensioner whose body was found in his home in Waterford yesterday evening died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning while he was asleep.

The body of 78-year-old Michael Bardon, a retired taxi driver, was discovered at the house on Connolly Place in the city after neighbours contacted emergency services.

Fire crews, gardaí, the ambulance service and staff from Gas Networks Ireland attended the house.

An investigation is continuing.
