Early present for Limerick couple as mother gives birth in Waterford hotel

A Limerick mother got an unexpected early delivery this morning when she gave birth in Dooleys Hotel in Waterford city.

Sarah Cuneen and her husband David were staying at the family owned hotel and was due to be admitted to University Hospital Waterford tomorrow to have her fourth child, but the baby had other ideas.

Two members of staff stayed with Sarah until the ambulance arrived and the paramedics delivered a healthy baby boy at 9am this morning.

Ms Cuneen and her new baby boy, who weighed in at 9lbs 8oz, are now happily resting at University Hospital Waterford.

Staff at Dooleys in Waterford say its the first time a baby has been born at their establishment in their 70 year history and they also said there is always plenty of room at the Inn.
