Two men are in garda custody after they went on a 20 kilometre rampage through north Cork in a four-wheel drive.
The SUV struck several vehicles as it was driven from Charleville through Buttevant before it was eventually stopped at New Twopothouse near Mallow this evening.
The two men were taken into Garda custody at the scene.
It is understood that one of them has received medical treatment for alcohol or substance intoxication.
The road at New Twopothouse has been closed and traffic diversions are in place.
Investigating gardaí at Mallow in Co Cork are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
