A special exemption licence has been granted to publicans in Killarney allowing them to open earlier this Sunday.

The extension was sought in relation to a number of special events being held in the town this weekend, including the Munster football final between Cork and Kerry and the Ring of Kerry charity cycle.

Licensed premises will be allowed to open on at 11am instead of 12.30pm.

The licence was granted by the District Court in Killarney this morning.
