Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony Fitzgerald is the new Lord Mayor of Cork city
A councillor for the Knocknaheeny area of Cork City, he is a HSE support worker and was first elected to the council in 2004.
Mr Fitzgerald was Deputy Mayor of Cork City in 2011. Fianna Fáil last held the mayor's office in 2014.
Mayor Fitzgerald replaces Fine Gael Councillor Des Cahill who has been mayor for the 12 twelve months.
