The cruise liner season has begun in Co Cork with the arrival in Cobh of Saga Cruises' MV Saga Pearl 2, the first of 65 cruise liners due to visit the county between now and November.
They will bring 160,000 passengers and crew, generating an estimated €8 million in tourism revenue for the region.
Seven liners will make their maiden calls to Cork this year.
Princess Cruises' MV Caribbean Princess will visit 14 times during the season, carrying up to 3,500 passengers each time.
Cork is one of the most popular stops on the itinerary of northern European cruise liners and the Port of Cork says business this year is booming.
Advance bookings for 2018 indicate that the port is likely to attract more than 75 liners next year.
