A man in his 50s has been arrested after an axe was used to damage a number of cars in Co Wexford.
Gardaí responded to reports of criminal damage to four parked cars at the Forth Mountain carpark, located about 10km outside Wexford town, at around 4.15pm.
The Armed Response Unit was called in and deployed a "less-than-lethal" force option to arrest the man after he was located at a house in Taghmon.
The man is currently being held at a garda station in the east of the country under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí have also said that investigations remain ongoing.
