A woman in her 60s has died following a house fire in Co Offaly.
At around 10pm last night, gardaí and fire services were alerted to a house on fire in the village of Moneygall.
The fire was brought under control by the fire service and the body of the woman was recovered from inside the home.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The local coroner has been notified, and the woman’s body was taken to the mortuary at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and garda investigations are ongoing.
