People in Co Carlow have said they want to see more supports for young people ahead of the publication of the Government's new housing plan.
One woman said: "For the young people that’s working, they went to college for years and got a good education, like they need to be looked after.
"Because that’s why so many kids are going away to Australia for jobs and houses."
Another woman said she is paying €550 a month to live in what she described as a "tin can".
"I’m nearly 26 years of age and a lot of people my age are considering going abroad," she said.
