Man, 50s, arrested after €137k cannabis found in Louth

A man in his 50s has been arrested following the seizure of more than €137,000 worth of suspected illegal cannabis.

A cannabis cultivation operation was found during the search, under warrant, of a residence in Dundalk, Co Louth yesterday.

Around 2.5 kilogrammes of harvested cannabis were seized, along with 109 cannabis plants.

The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man in his 50s was arrested and taken to a garda station in Co Louth.

He is due to appear before Drogheda District Court today.
