A man has been arrested after drugs worth around €2.2 million were seized by gardaí yesterday.

The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested after a vehicle was stopped on the M7 in Co Laois.

Around €100,000 worth of suspected cocaine was discovered and seized by gardaí.

In a follow-up search of a residence in west Dublin, €160,000 worth of cannabis, €1.2m of ketamine, €530,000 of cocaine and diamorphine worth €210,000 were seized along with a quantity of cash and a number of other items.

The man is being held at a garda station in Dublin.

Gardaí said that investigations are ongoing and the drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
