Man, 70s, dies in Co Meath road crash

A man has died following a road crash in Co Meath.

The single-vehicle crash, involving a truck, happened on the L2226 in Ballinderry, Enfield at around 5am yesterday.

The driver of the truck, a man aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

No one else was injured in the incident.

The road where the crash happened was closed for a technical examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí have appealed for information and have asked road users who were travelling in the area between 4.30am and 5.30am and may have footage, including dashcam, to make it available to them.
