A fresh appeal for information has been made in connection with a hit-and-run in Co Kildare last November in which a 16-year-old boy was killed.

Kedagh Moore, who was from Graigues, Robertstown, died after being struck by a vehicle on the R403 in Blackwood, near Robertstown in the early hours of Sunday 10 November 2024.

A 40-year-old man later appeared in court charged in connection with the incident.

Marin Silaghi, with an address in Ballybrittas, Portlaoise, Co Laois, was charged under the Road Traffic Act with a hit-and-run, failing to stop at the scene with the intention of evading liability where a death resulted.

Gardaí this morning issued a renewed appeal for witnesses.

In particular they are seeking to identify a motorcyclist, who was not involved in the incident, but who is understood to have passed the scene, and was believed to have been travelling along the R403 from Prosperous to Allenwood.

They are also appealing to any witnesses or any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of Prosperous, Allenwood, Carbury and Robertstown between 11.30pm on Saturday, 9 November 2024 and 3.30am on Sunday,10 November 2024, and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
