A man in his 20s has been killed in a single-car road crash in Co Laois.
The crash occurred at Ballaghmore, Borris-in-Ossory, at around 3.15am.
The driver, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The road was closed for examination by garda forensic collision investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, from the area between 3am and 3.30am, are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
