Young man in late teens dies in Co Kildare road crash

A young man has died following a road crash in Co Kildare.

The incident occurred on Barrettstown Road in Newbridge, at around 8pm yesterday.

The man, aged in his late teens and a passenger in a pick-up truck, was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver, who is aged in his teens, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.45pm and 8.15pm last night, to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
