Two men arrested after gardaí seize cocaine, cannabis and cash

Two men have been arrested in Co Meath after gardaí carried out a number of coordinated searches across several regions today as part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of drugs.

Searches were carried out under warrant in counties Meath, Westmeath, Dublin, Offaly and Clare and gardaí seized €125,000 worth of cocaine, €168,000 worth of cannabis herb and €41,600 worth of cannabis plants.

Gardaí also seized €75,340 in cash and £23,805 during the operation.

Three vehicles were also seized by Revenue's Customs Services.

A man in his 40s was arrested in Navan, Co Meath, in relation to the operation. He was subsequently charged and has since been before the courts.

A second man, aged in his 30s, was also arrested in Navan and has since been charged. He is due to appear before Trim District Court next month.

Today’s operation was led by the crime investigation teams in the Meath-Westmeath and Laois-Offaly garda divisions, who were supported by the Garda Armed Support Unit, the Garda Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and Revenue’s Customs Services.

Gardaí have said that all of the drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and investigations remain ongoing.
