Three Dublin men have appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged aggravated burglary in north Co Louth over the weekend.

All of the offences are alleged to have occurred at a property at Grove Road, Carlingford last Saturday.

Martin Connors, aged 28 and of Hazelhill, Killinarden, Tallaght, and his 39-year-old co-accused William Connors of Rossfield Avenue, Tallaght are both charged with burglary while in the possession of a sledgehammer.

Meanwhile, Patrick Connors, aged 29 and also of Rossfield Avenue, Tallaght, is charged with burglary while in the possession of a screwdriver.

Drogheda District Court heard that the three men made no reply when charged and cautioned following their arrest.

Judge Stephanie Coggans granted the three accused legal aid but refused a request from their barristers to grant them bail.

The three men were remanded in custody to appear before Dundalk District Court on Wednesday.
