A man in his 40s has been arrested after a firearm and ammunition were seized in Co Meath.
As part of ongoing inquiries, a residential property was searched under warrant in Bettystown.
A 9mm CZ handgun with three fully loaded magazines was recovered, along with an improvised handgun, subject to ballistic examination.
In addition to the firearms, over 1,500 rounds of ammunition were seized, consisting of an assortment of 9mm, .22, .38, .45 rounds and shotgun cartridges.
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the seizure and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.
