Three men are being questioned after €14.1 million worth of cocaine was seized in Co Laois.

Gardaí say the intelligence led operation has taken down the main supply network for cocaine and crack cocaine into west Dublin.

Detectives from the Dublin Crime Response Team discovered 182 kilos of cocaine during a search of a commercial premises in Mountmellick today.

In follow up searches detectives found another 17 kilos of cocaine concealed in a car that was seized.

Four kilos of cannabis herb were also seized in the planned operation.

Gardaí say the drugs have a street value of over €14.1 million.

A number of cars were also seized.

Three men have been arrested and are being detained under section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.

They can questioned for up to seven days.

Assistant Commissioner for the Dublin Metropolitan Region Paul Cleary said the operation had taken down the main supply network for cocaine and crack cocaine into west Dublin.

He said the operation stopped the drugs from entering communities and is another significant blow to an organised crime group.
